Thanks for the comments- tried to korrect spelling ererr- couldn't - and guess in the process I somehow deleted your comments.
Glamour (false and real), wealth, opulence, racism, classism, the corruption of the "Am. Dream", misspent love, illusion, delusion, trying to bring the past back- tragedy- doomed. The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Oprah should be touting books like this- it's not old- it's timeless. Unfortunately.

I stopped looking out at the green light today- reality wins again.
